We’re excited to be partnering with Flinders University as part of a new Australian Research Council (ARC) project exploring innovative approaches to school food across Australia. The project is called “Thinking Outside the Lunchbox” and brings together researchers and practitioners who are all working towards the same goal: making it easier for schools to provide children with fresh, nutritious food that supports their health, learning and wellbeing. Through this collaboration, The School Food Project will share insights from our work and help schools introduce chef-led lunch programs and transform their food environments.
We’re also delighted to be working alongside fellow implementation partners School Food Matters in Tasmania and Africola in South Australia, who are doing inspiring work in the school food space. By bringing together research, practical experience and shared learning, this project is an exciting step toward building the momentum needed to improve school food nationwide.
